In 1994, a small group of trailerboat fishing enthusiasts got together at d'Albora Marinas Nelson Bay on beautiful Port Stephens for a fun weekend of fishing and entertainment. Held each year the weekend prior to Easter, the Trailer Boat Fishing Tournament has grown to be amongst the most popular family fishing tournaments in Australia while staying true to its original ideal of making anglers of all ages and skill levels welcome. The rules are simple to understand and there are a lot of Juniors each year. These days, you can expect to join up to 1500 competitors and 500 boats to compete for around $100,000 in species and lucky draw prizes. It is the first ever fishing tournament for around 50% of competitors each year, and people travel from all over Australia for the weekend. This year we had some top new sponsors and would like to welcome BRP (Evinrude), Polycraft, www.newcastlefishing.com, RJAYZ, and Love Oil Company (YaMate) onboard. Evinrude joined forces with Polycraft and we drew a 4.1mtr Polycraft boat fitted with an Evinrude ETEC on Sunday (on a trailer with a Lowrance sounder and Club Marine insurance) as the major Lucky Draw Prize plus another Polycraft 3mtr cartopper at Saturdays BBQ. The Rock Lobster restaurant did a sterling job of the cartering for Saturdays BBQ. More details on the sponsors link pages.
