Entries for 2012 are now open

In 1994, a small group of trailerable boat fishing enthusiasts got together at d'Albora Marinas Nelson Bay on beautiful Port Stephens for an enjoyable weekend of fishing and camraderie.

The Trailer Boat Fishing Tournament has grown to be amongst the most popular family fishing tournaments in Australia while staying true to its original ideal of making anglers of all ages and skill levels welcome. The rules are simple to understand and there are a lot of Juniors each year.

These days, you can expect to join up to 1500 competitors and 500 boats to compete for around $100,000 in species and lucky draw prizes. It is the first ever fishing tournament for around 50% of competitors each year, and people travel from all over Australia for the weekend.

For 2011 we welcomed a number of new sponsors including Costa Del Mar sunglasses, Flying Fisherman sunglasses, Port Stephens Fishing Charters, Boab Boat Hire, Shoal Bay resort & Spa, and Edgewater Boats onboard.

Evinrude teamed with Edgewater Boats to provide a new Evinrude E-Tec 50 HP powered 145 centre console with a Lowrance sounder and Club Marine Insurance as the major lucky prize draw prize this year. Fully rigged on a trailer and registered This marvelous package alone was worth over $30,000.
